Install xp on playstation 3

Your PS3 is already a computer. All you have to do is download and install Linux on it, there are many websites which can help you with that. Finally, if you don't want to risk it on your PS3, try it on your PC, there are many on-line tutorials for Linux which can help you get started and learn about its many great features.

Stop hesitating, try something new. Who knows, you might like it Its gonna run pretty poor regardless In conclusion, you everyone considering this are just installing XP to show off to your friends that you have XP on your ps3.

There is no gain, and there is more feature and abilities on the linux distro alone. It does suck but the point here is showing what the ps3 can do which in comparison with the opposition is on a league of its own regarding harware capabilities, and with the best games coming out in the near future the ps3 is the must have console.

I just banned that guy btw so don't worry. Tbh, I actually don't see the point in installing an OS onto a console. OSX doesnt work on any other platform expect for Apple machines.

Also, if PC gaming dies then consoles would probably die as well It can install Windows, yet it can't make games look or run better than the It hurts because you know it's true. Lots of jaggies. It's nothing that the can't do. I've seen video of the other two you mentioned. Again, nothing the can't do. Graphically, the best games so far have been Gears of War and Call of Duty 4.

At this moment i can't see the point of getting XP on my PS3, i mean, if to do that you need to install first an linux distribution, what's the point of getting two OS just to TRY to take advantage of only one of them xp.

XP on PS3 will be a good thing only when the possibility of being installed alone stand real. That's my opinion. Who's worried about how good a game looks when you can't even play it see Burnout Paradise online for So sad. Maybe buy a new harddrive and Operating System. Yea, I might just do this How does it handle games and the like? It will not be good at all this is just emulating windows in linux. It cant do what a pc could. The only reason for this would be for people who do not know how to use linux and do not want to learn so that they could use it for minor things.

I mean I wouldn't even use Windows on my PC if I weren't a gamer. Why would you want to do that? To live dangerously? Really, whatever you can do on XP you can do in Linux.

And don't come with Yellow Dog limits crap The 'linux on PS3' world is larger than Yellow Dog, you know. I bet it runs horribly. I don't see how it could possibly perform very well. Windows, OSX and Linux all have security flaws and holes btw, hell Apple expect people to pay for Service packs but they have stopped that. Windows is targeted more because of the bigger market share it holds making it a more worthwhile target.

I have not tried it but i dont know what you mean by as limited as linux the nice this about linux is that it is not limited at all. If you need help doing something with a distro i know about i could help or if i dont i could give you some sites that could help you along.

Linux is what you want and has a very large community of people willing to help like the maker of this xp emulator. Best of its free so if you truly hate it you dont lose out on anything. Departe85 , May 28, Recently started using the PS3 again and seems the previously replaced laser might be on its way out again, so thought it was time to upgrade to a CFW. Cant seem to see anything similar in the tools section.

And looks like the OP hasn't been online since june so not sure I'll be able to get help there. Anyone else suggest anything pls? But this tutorial doesn't so not sure yet.

The appropriate storage was not found Then it asked Please format press yes or no On giving no nothing happened After some attempts i was able to get the home screen and menus again but this time GAMES folder is empty All downloaded games and multiman icons all gone So can some one please guide me what i did wrong how to have the games back.
